Record the past and present of Sanbao Village (三宝村) in Xinhui County (新会县) and the changes of Xinhui County (新会县) to Xinhui district (新会区).

Hengtaili (恒泰里) archway : The name of "Hengtaili" (恒泰里) is the taken from the name for entrance of the village "Hengjuli" (恒聚里) and the name for the end of the village "Tailaili" (泰来里), collectively known as Hengtaili (恒泰里), built in 1999.


The plaque at the top inscribed "Hengtaili" (恒泰里) , "Winter 1999" (九九九年冬).


The first line of the couplet on the right side inscribed

上联:“恒念鲁哲贤 外境𨍭瞬吾境”

always remember "Lu" 鲁 (now Shandong province) wise man, the outside world will become our familiar place


the second line of the couplet on the left side inscribed

下联:“泰处粤福地 仙泉依旧涌甘泉“

peaceful at "Yue" 粤 (Guangdong province) blessed land, fairy spring is still gushing sweet spring

The current address of Sanbao Village (三宝村) is Sanbao Village (三宝村), Heshan Village Committee (河山村委会), Tangxia Town (棠下镇), Pengjiang District (蓬江区), Jiangmen City (江门市), Guangdong Province (广东省). The post code is 529085. Why not write the name of "Xinhui" (新会) ?





Changes in Xinhui County (新会县), it began in Pingyi County (平夷县) in 222, and the area of Xinhui County (新会县) was largest in 972, Xinhui District (新会区) was established in 2002.

Han Dynasty 汉代时期

In 214 BC, it was under the jurisdiction of Panyu County (番禺县), Nanhai County (南海郡). Later it belongs to the territory of Nanyue (南越国). In the sixth year of Yuanding (元鼎) in the Western Han Dynasty (111 BC), it was restored to the jurisdiction of Panyu County (番禺县), Nanhai County (南海郡), Jiaozhou (交州).



Wei and Jin Dynasty 魏晋南北朝

In the first year of Wu Huangwu (黄武) 222 of the Three Kingdoms (三国), Pingyi County (平夷县) was established. In the first year of Taikang (太康) in the Western Jin Dynasty (西晋) 280, it was renamed Xinyi County (新夷县). Panyun County (盘允县) (belonging to Nanhai County (南海郡) was added to the east, and Fengping County (封平县) (belonging to Xinning County 新宁郡) was added to the west.



Liu Song Dynasty 南朝宋时期 (the beginning of Xinhui County 新会郡)

In the second year of Jin Yuanxi (晋元熙) 420 in the Liu Song dynasty (南朝宋) , Nanhai County (南海) and Xinning County (新宁) were combined into Xinhui County (新会郡), have jurisdiction over the three counties of Penyun (盆允县), Fengping (封平县), and Xinyi (新夷县) were governed at Penyun County (盆允县), and the name of Xinhui (新会) began.








Sui Dynasty 隋开皇时期 (the beginning of Xinhui County 新会县)

Sui Dynasty 隋开皇时期 (the beginning of Gangzhou 冈州)

In the ten years emperor Suiwen (开皇隋文帝) 590 of the Sui Dynasty, abolished Xinhui County (新会郡) and established Fengzhou (封州).

Merging Xinyi County (新夷) and Chubin County (初宾) into Yining County (宁县);

Merged Shikang County (始康县) into Fengping County (封平县);

The original Penyun (盆允县), Yongchang (永昌县), Song Yuan (宋元县), Xinxi (新熙县), Shicheng (始成县), and Zhaoji (招集县) counties were merged into Xinhui County (新会县), which was the beginning of the establishment of Xinhui County (新会县). Take Penyun (盆允县) as the county government.



In the eleventh year (591), Fengzhou (封州) was renamed Yunzhou (允州), and the four counties of Xinhui (新会县), Yining (义宁县), Fengping (封平县) and Fengle (封乐县) were governed.



In the thirteenth year (593), Yunzhou (允州) was renamed Gangzhou (冈州). Xinhui County (新会县) as the prefecture government (now Kaiping 开平 Guzhou Ruins 古州墟).



In the thirteenth year of Zhenguan (贞观) 639 in the Tang Dynasty, Gangzhou (冈州) was abolished , and Gangzhou (冈州) was restored in the same year. Xinhui County (新会县) belongs to Gangzhou (冈州), and the prefecture governs Xinhui City (新会城), so Huicheng (会城) is also known as Gangcheng (冈城).




In the 21st year of Zhenyuan (贞元) 805 in the Tang Dynast, Gangzhou (冈州) was abolished. Xinhui (新会县), Yining County (义宁县) belongs to Nanhai County (南海郡), Guangzhou (广州).



Five Dynasties Song Yuan Dynasty 五代宋元时期

In the fifth year of Kaibao (开宝) 972 in the Song Dynasty destroyed the Southern Han (南汉) and merged Yining County (义宁县) into Xinhui County (新会县), which belonged to Nanhai County (南海郡), Guangzhou (广州). It is the largest area of Xinhui County (新会县). The county includes the 3 counties of Xinhui (新会), Taishan (台山) and Doumen (斗门), the urban area of Jiangmen City (江门市), the entire suburban area and parts of the 5 counties of Zhuhai (珠海市), Zhongshan (中山), Shunde (顺德县), Kaiping (开平县), Heshan (鹤山县), and Enping (恩平县).



The name of Xinhui County (新会县) has not changed since then, but the county area has gradually shrunk.







Southern Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty 南宋至清朝

From the Southern Song Dynasty (南宋) to the Qing Dynasty (清朝), Xinhui County (新会县) was divided into multiple counties:


In the 22nd year of Shaoxing () 1152 in the Southern Song Dynasty (南宋), Xiangshan County (香山县) (now Zhongshan 中山) was established by cession of land.


In the third year of jingtai (景泰) 1452 in the Ming Dynasty (明朝), Shunde County (順德县) was established by ceding land.


In the 14th year of Chenghua (成化) 1478 in the Ming Dynasty (明朝), the land was ceded to establish Enping County (恩平县).


In the eleventh year of Hongzhi (弘治) 1498 in the Ming Dynasty (明朝) , Xinning County (新宁县) (now Taishan 台山) was established by cession of land.


In the sixth year of Shunzhi (順治) 1649 in the Qing Dynasty (清朝), the land was ceded to establish Kaiping County (开平县).


In the tenth year of Yongzheng (雍正) 1732 in the Qing Dynasty (清朝), Heshan County (鶴山县) was established by cession of land.




When was Sanbao Village (三宝村) established?


The following are the old name of Sanbao Village (三宝村) (which may not have been established) in Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasty:


Song / Yuan Dynasty 宋元时期

In 972, Tangxia (棠下) belonged to Zhongleli (中樂里), Longxi Township (龙溪乡), Xinhui County (新会县).


Ming Dynasty 明代时期

In 1609, Tianhe (天河) belonged to Zhongledu (中樂都), Longxi Township (龙溪乡), Xinhui County (新会县).


Ming Dynasty 明代时期

In 1690, Su Village (蘇村) belonged to Zhongledu (中樂都), Longxi Township (龙溪乡), Xinhui County (新会县).

Sanbao Village (三宝村) is called Su Village (蘇村) Zhongledu (中樂都) on ancient maps.



In the Qing Dynasty Daoguang's (道光) "Xinhui Local Chronicles" (新会县志) in 1841, Zhongledu (中都) was located in the north of Xinhui County (新会县).

ROC period 民国时期

In 1932, Xinhui County (新会县) was divided into 15 autonomous regions (自治区), and Sanbao Village (三宝村) was in the fifth district of Xinhui County (新会县第五区).







Early PRC period 共和国初期

In 1952, Sanbao Village (三宝村) belonged to the third district of Xinhui County (新会县第三区).







People's Commune period 人民公社化时期

In 1958, Sanbao Village (三宝村) belonged to Tangxia Commune (棠下公社) in Jiangmen Prefecture (江门专区), Guangdong Province (广东省).





Chinese economic reform period 改革开放时期

In 1984, the whole county withdrew from the commune to build a district, and Sanbao Village (三宝村) belonged to Tangxia District (棠下区), Xinhui County (新会县), Guangdong Province (广东省).

In 1986, the district was removed and a town was established. Sanbao Village (三宝村) belongs to Tangxia Town (棠下镇), Xinhui County (新会县), Guangdong Province (广东省).




County-level cities period 县级市时期 (the beginning of Xinhui City 新会市)

In 1992, the county was withdrawn to form a city, and Xinhui County (新会县) was changed to Xinhui City (新会市), after which the name of Xinhui County (新会县) disappeared. Sanbao Village (三宝村) belongs to Tangxia Town (棠下镇), Xinhui City (新会市), Guangdong Province (广东省).





Since Jiangmen Town (江门镇) was changed to Jiangmen City (江门市) in 1951, it has gradually expanded. By 1994, Waihai Town (外海镇), Chaolian Town (潮连镇), and Liyue Town (礼乐镇) had been merged into Jiangmen City (江门市).




Districts period 市辖区时期 (the beginning of Xinhui District 新会区)

In 2002, Xinhui (新会) transferred the three towns of Tangxia (棠下), Duruan (杜阮) and Hetang (荷塘镇) to Pengjiang District (蓬江区). At the same time, Xinhui City (新会市) was abolished to establish a new Xinhui District (新会区), which has 11 towns including Huicheng (会城), Daze (大泽), Siqian (司前), Luokeng (罗坑), Shuangshui (双水), Yamen (崖门), Sanddui (沙堆), Gujing (古井), Sanjiang (三江), Muzhou (睦洲), and Daao (大鳌).




The current area of Xinhui District (新会区): 1355 square km.

In the fifth year of Kaibao (开宝) of Northern Song dynasty (北宋) 972, Xinhui County (新会县) area is the largest.

The area of Xinhui County (新会县) in the twelfth year of Yuanjia (元嘉) 435 in the Liu Song dynasty (南朝宋) 435: 8,419 square km.







Jiangmen City (江门市) currently governs three districts, namely Pengjiang district (蓬江区), Jianghai district (江海区), Xinhui district (新会区), and four county-level cities, namely Taishan (台山市), Kaiping (开平市), Enping (恩平市), and Heshan (鹤山市).




Since the county-level Xinhui City (新会市) was abolished in 2002, Xinhui City (新会市) has since disappeared. New three districts Xinhui District (新会区), Pengjiang District (蓬江区), Jianghai District (江海区) were established in Jiangmen City (江门市). Sanbao Village (三宝村) belongs to Tangxia Town (棠下镇), Pengjiang District (蓬江区), Jiangmen City (江门市). Since then, the address of Sanbao Village (三宝村) no longer has the word "Xinhui" (新会).
