As a Nanyang Chinese, since I was young, my parents have told me that our ancestral home is in Guangdong, and we have a Jinshi (a successful candidate in the imperial examination) in our lineage. Curious about my family's history, I began collecting information in 1997.

Sources of family information:

1 Literature, local gazetteers, anthology, and newspapers held in public libraries and higher education institution libraries.

2 Ancestral shrines, epitaphs, ancestral portraits, and clan associations.

3 Oral accounts from elders, property settlement, and manuscripts.

The collected information is as follows:

Family residence locations, ancestral shrines, ancestral genealogy, migration during the Southern Song Dynasty, life achievements, journeys to the capital for imperial examinations, property settlement, poetic and literary inscriptions, and Nanyang pioneering endeavors.

Efforts have been made to ensure the authenticity of the collected data, and if there are still doubts, make revisions after further verification.

The compiled records are documented here.

Recorded on the 19th day of the sixth month of the year Gengzi 庚子 (which corresponds to August 8, 2020 in the Gregorian calendar) in Singapore.
